ELEVEN98: A HYPER LOCAL HACKNEY SUPPERCLUB

15 SEPTEMBER 2021
You may or may not have gathered but we're pretty obsessed about all things edible - and a few more things too! As we regularly stumble upon some great finds, food or no, and we thought we'd share our favourites with you!
We recently had a really unique supper club experience which is ALL about local produce and foraging. My friends know me well and gifted us a Hackney supperclub dinner at Eleven98. I must say I absolutely LOVED the concept. The format is a seven-course menu and ALL of the produce is sourced from Hackney.

The chef Aidan Brooks was born in Hackney and is on a mission to show how one can live sustainably and source food locally. To achieve this he relies on his own vegetable plot in Hackney as well as St Mary’s Community Garden. He also forages quite a bit from the area ranging from wild plums to figs, elderflowers and blackberries. Summer is one of the busiest periods of the year for him as there is a bounty of produce that he preserves, pickles or dries in order to stock up for the winter months!

An amazing way to live that feels so close to the changing seasons, and something I found truly fascinating. The quality of ingredients he sources and his passion really come through and the food was simply delicious. An inspiring foodie experience I truly recommend!

How About You?
